The Story
From the Pipes to the Plans
Brae Burrows grew up on Waiheke Island, spending years working alongside his father as a plumber — learning from the ground up what it means to work with your hands, take pride in the job, and do right by the client.
After a decade building and renovating across Wellington, Brae started Keen Builders Ltd in Johnsonville with a clear focus: become the go-to specialist for kitchen and bathroom renovations in the region. Not a generalist who does a bit of everything — but a builder who genuinely knows renovation work inside out.
That focus paid off. Over the years Keen Builders built a reputation for quality workmanship, clear communication and getting the job done properly — the kind of reputation that only comes from showing up, doing good work, and treating every client's home like your own.
Coming from the beach originally, relocating to the Kāpiti Coast felt like the right move — both personally and for the business. The coast has the community feel, the growth, and the kind of homeowners who care about quality. It's where Keen Builders belongs.
